I’ve spent my fair share of time on the road over the years, often picking up tourist tees as souvenirs from my travels. Some were pretty cool (big up Toronto!) But most would be barely hanging on after a few washes.
When I settled in Margate and opened the shop no one was bothered about repping Margate on a shirt when I started, so I just had some fun with it and messed around with some designs and logos. I did small runs of decent, heavyweight shirts that were a notch above the usual tourist tee and watched the interest grow. Fast forward several years, and Margate is on everyone’s radar and more popular than ever and we have a staple of best sellers that ship across the globe and add some odd, fun gems as we go to keep things interesting.
